Google Local Guides : A few ways you can support businesses in your community

Small businesses are part of what makes our communities unique and now, more than ever, they need our support. To celebrate International Small Business Day, we’ve put together a few easy ways that Local Guides can use Google Maps to be there for their community.

Report a place as opened or closed

Many businesses have reopened or closed lately – report the latest closure information about your local businesses on Maps to help others find available services. Note: only available on mobile.

Add helpful photos or reviews

Including a photo of a dish you ordered, the new menu or the business shopfront itself alongside reviews can help the business attract future customers

Update business hours

For some businesses, their new hours might not be up to date online – help out others looking for this information by editing business hours. Note: only available on mobile.
Edit map

Update information about a place

Help others know all the ways that businesses are adapting to meet their needs – from delivery options to contactless payment – by
suggesting edits. Note: only available on mobile.

How to edit attributes

  • Open Google Maps on your mobile device, or tap on Edit business attributes below and find a business that you want to edit
  • Tap About >> Describe this place
  • You can tap an attribute to change it and tap Send when you’ve finished making edits
