Starting August 1, 2025, Google Ads will enforce phone number verification for all message assets—a crucial change that could impact the visibility and performance of your ads.

Google is expanding its Unverified Phone Number Policy to include message assets, in addition to the already-required call-only ads, call assets, and location assets. This means that any phone number used in message assets must be verified, or those assets will be disapproved and won’t be served.

Key Deadlines:

August 1, 2025 – All new message assets must have verified phone numbers.
September 1, 2025 – Existing message assets must comply by this date.
